Formulas are an essential element in many documents, particularly educational materials, scientific publications, or technical documents. Whether you need to include mathematical equations or complex expressions, the Authoring Studio makes inserting formulas easy.
Start by positioning your cursor where you want the formula to appear in your text.
Next, click the Insert Formula icon in the editing toolbar. This will open the Edit Formula Modal.
Within the Edit Formula Modal, you will find different options.
Edit Formula: This is where you can create and edit your formula. You can enter mathematical expressions, symbols, and equations in this form.
Formula Panel: When you click on Edit Formula Form, the formula panel appears, offering extra tools and options to format your formula.
Edit LaTeX (Optional)
If you prefer to use LaTeX notation for your formulas, the Authoring Studio offers the option to switch to Edit LaTeX. LaTeX is a typesetting system commonly used for mathematical and scientific documents. Here, you can enter your formula using LaTeX syntax.
Inline, Arabic, and Hindi Numbers
Inline: The Inline option in the Authoring Studio makes it easy to add math expressions and formulas right into your text. It helps you put in complicated math easily, so your document looks smooth and professional.
Arabic: The Arabic formula writing feature lets users write formulas in Arabic. It changes English letters and symbols in a formula to Arabic ones. This feature also allows writing Arabic characters from right to left in a formula.
Hindi: By selecting this option, any English numbers within the formula will be automatically converted into Hindi numerals, making it easy to include them in your math expressions or equations.
Preview
Before finalizing your formula, you can preview it to check for any formatting or syntax errors.
Step 3: Insert
Once satisfied with your formula, click the Insert button. This will place the formula at the cursor's position in your document.
Select the formula you wish to work with. You will see two options: Edit and Remove. Clicking Edit will open the formula panel, enabling you to make changes, while clicking Remove will remove the formula from the text.
