Guideline for importing fixed-layout ePUB files
This guideline is now replaced by the
guideline. We have kept this outdated one as some might find it useful in their circumstances.
This
is a work in progress and as we see more cases referred to our support,
we will be updating this article. So please keep checking and also add
your experience and comments
Of course our aim is to adapt KNiTO
authoring studio so that in majority of cases, your ePUB and ePUB3 files
can be imported without any issue.
However, there are certain guidelines that we need to adhere to, specially if your original file was created by InDesign.
- Make sure all file names are in English containing letters, numbers and special characters such as underscore.
- Definitely, do not mix English and Arabic letters in the file name.
- Change all images from other formats to only .JPG and .PNG
- Open your existing ePUB file in InDesign (see notes below)
- Relink all assets
- Open Table of Content and create them according to your book structure
- Save and Export as Fixed-Layout ePUB file
Note:
Please see this training video on how to import a fixed-layout Arabic
book to KNiTO Store. This might not fully apply to you, but the
experience can help.
or see below.
