Understanding Roles and Authorities in the PUBNiTO Bookstore

Roles and Authorities in the PUBNiTO Bookstore

The PUBNiTO Bookstore operates with different roles, each with its own set of responsibilities and access levels.

Owner

The owner is the individual who buys the bookstore from PUBNiTO and has the highest authority. They can assign administrators, set up vendors (booksellers), and have the power to deactivate or remove all roles or users. Roles other than the owner role cannot delete or deactivate the owner role within the system.

Administrator

Administrators are publishing admins. The owner assigns this role. They are second in command in the Publishing Panel and handle store management, but they can't access the Admin Console. They can do everything the owner can in the Publishing Panel, but they can't remove or deactivate the owner.

Vendor

Vendors are booksellers and can be defined by the owner or administrator. They can add or remove vendor assistants and manage their books, including entering metadata, setting prices, and more, like deciding which books appear on the platform as they are the book owner. Even so, the owner or administrator must approve the final book publication.

Vendor Assistant

Vendor assistants (defined by vendors) handle all the vendor tasks, except for editing vendor information or accessing financial reports. They can't delete or deactivate vendors.

User

Anyone who registers in the store is a user. Users can purchase and download books but only have access to the store and reader.
