Organizing Sections and Chapters Within Section Management

Section Management in Authoring Studio

Section Management helps you organize your sections and chapters. You can locate Section Management to the left of each section bar on your Table of Contents page. By hovering your cursor over the bar, the following options will be visible: Rename, Settings, and Delete.

Rename: By clicking here, you can change the name of your section.

Settings: Here, you can choose how you want to present your sections. To configure your section display, follow the steps below:
1. Click on Settings in your selected section to see the Section Settings window.

2. In Section Settings, you see the following columns: Output Name, Show in Output, and Show in Table of Contents.

Output Name: Here you will see a list of available outputs, like Bookstore and ePUB3.

Show in Output: This selection determines where your section's content will be showcased.

Show in Table of Contents: In this part, you can determine how your section and its chapters will be presented in the table of contents based on the available options. These options are:
Show Section and Chapters: This will display the section and its associated chapters in the table of contents and provide readers with a comprehensive view of its content hierarchy.

Show Section but Hide Chapters: Choose this option if you want to showcase the section in the Table of Contents while keeping its chapters hidden.

Hide Section but Show Chapters: Choose this if you prefer to keep the section hidden in the Table of Contents but display its individual chapters.

Hide Section and Chapters: If you wish to keep the section and its chapters completely hidden from the table of contents, this is the option.

Once you are done, make sure to click Save to preserve your configuration.

Delete: This lets you delete a section with all its information. Be careful, because this is irreversible. You will be presented with two options:
I Understand and Agree: Confirm that you want to delete this section, acknowledging that the action is irreversible.
Delete Chapters Under This Section (Optional): You can choose to remove all chapters within the section along with it.

Close: This closes the Delete window without saving any changes made.
