Admin Console: Configuring Your Exclusive Domain

Websites created through PUBNiTO are hosted on subdomains with the (.pubnito.com) format by default. However, it is possible to configure an exclusive domain for your organization. To do this, the account owner or site administrator can purchase the desired domain and set up the necessary DNS configurations. After completing these steps, assign the preferred domain to the organization's website from the domain section in the Admin Console, replacing the initial subdomain.
Warning:
Changing your domain will immediately disable the current store and other services on your current domain.
Your new domain will need to be registered and connected to your services before it will work online.

Configuring Your External Domain

Step 1: Purchase a Domain

Go to a domain registrar or hosting provider of your choice.
Search for and purchase the desired domain name.
Follow the registrar's instructions to complete the purchase.

Step 2: Choose and Assign the Preferred Domain

In your Admin Console, open the Settings menu on the left. Click on Domain.





Enter your custom domain (e.g., "yourdomain.com" or "subdomain.yourdomain.com").




Note: Depending on whether you are configuring the root domain or a subdomain, relevant instructions will be provided under the form.




Step 3: Configure DNS Settings

To configure your domain's DNS settings, you'll need to access your domain registrar's account. Look for the DNS management or DNS settings section within your account. Once there, you can create the required DNS records, depending on whether you want to configure the root domain or a subdomain.
For the root domain, you'll typically use an "A record" to point it to the appropriate values provided by PUBNiTO. This record will direct the root domain (e.g., example.com) to a specific IP address.
If you're configuring a subdomain (e.g., subdomain.example.com), you'll typically use a "CNAME record" instead. This record will point the subdomain to the appropriate values provided by PUBNiTO.
Remember to save the DNS settings after making the necessary changes. This will ensure that your domain is properly configured to work with PUBNiTO.

After applying all the settings, click on Save Changes to finalize your changes.
